Turnaround Times:
Results:
This is dependent on both methodology and availability. Please consult the laboratory intranet site. Most routine Biochemistry and Haematology testing is available within three hours with STAT testing available within 90 minutes.
ED, ICU, Delivery Suite, NICU testing is treated urgently. Urgent requests from other wards require prior phoning to the laboratory so the reception staff can prioritise them on arrival.
Writing “urgent’ on the form is not sufficient notification.
Results, once available, are best accessed via the ward computer terminals. The preferred portal is the ‘Clinical Work Station’ application, with logon and training available from IS.
If access to CWS is unavailable you may alternatively access the laboratory information system via LIC.
If the Laboratory computer system is down and you need to phone for results please bear in mind that we will have to access the results manually and this takes time.
1 . To login to LIC , Go to START >
Users will launch the iSOFT Laboratory 13.5 L.I.C. application directly from the Start Menu / All Programs / Clinical Applications as per the screen shot below
iSl L.I.C. will continue to be available only to limited users via Citrix who work outside of main hospital campuses.
